From funk to folk to rock 'n roll to blues and to country, Kaatz has proven himself to be a roots-music master. A professional musician before he could vote, over his long and celebrated career Kaatz has performed and recorded with such legends as Bo Diddley, Etta James, Mary Wells, Doug Kershaw, Charlie Musselwhite, Bell and James, Bonnie Bramlett, Big Mama Thornton, and the Defenders.
